The general meeting of RIFA for year 2008 was held at No.2 & 3 Conference
Room of Chuo-Kominkan from 10:00 a.m. on May 11, 2008.
The meeting was started under the chairmanship of Nakano San, Chairperson
of Cultural Exchange Committee.
At the beginning of meeting, Okada San, RIFA Chairperson made the opening remarks as follows.
“ Times have been changing such that any borders do not exit between countries as being represented by the word of globalization. I believe that RIFA activities become essential more and more, especially at such times. “
As a greeting from the guests, Nakamura San, Deputy Mayer of Ritto City red the
following point of massage from Kunimatsu San, Mayer of Ritto City.
“ Greet 10th anniversary and expect that RIFA will become prosperous more and more . “
Takano San, Chairperson of Ritto City Council encouraged with his expectation that
RIFA would continue to play an important role of supporting foreign residents and cross
cultural exchange activities.
The proceedings started after selecting Fuchida San as a chairman of the meeting.
The statement of account for last year budget and the business budget for this year
were adopted as proposed. At Q&A session, the meeting attendees raised questions such
as about foreigner’s supporting business, carry-over budget and how to treat the
members who did not pay member’s fee yet. |

10th Anniversary of RIFA
As a memorial event, Atarashi San of principal in RittoNishiJunior High School gave a lecture for about one hour, entitled ” what we leant from the positive international exchange with junior high school students of Birmingham City “.
He talked using the slides. His lecture is summarized below.

In last year, we experienced an exchange with Berkshire junior high school
for 8 days from October 26 to November 2. 12 students and 4 teachers participated
in an
exchange activities. 12 students consisted of 5 from Ritto, 4 from Hayama
and 3 from Ritto-Nishi Junior High school.
Every morning, the principal spoke to students at the gate of school. I felt that the principal contacted with students familiarly and frankly. Our students were impressed with importance of experiences and thoughtful contact.
We returned to Japan gaining a lot of leanings listed below

OAudio-visual education
ORespect each other in multiracial country
ODivide the teaching works such as in area of teaching and coaching
OEase for students to utilize the library because it is located near the main entrance |
