　バーミンハム市は、五大湖の一つヒューロン湖の南西に位置し、人口2万人強の町です。
　近郊の自動車産業で有名なデトロイト市の急激な人口増加の影響を受け、ベッドタウンとして発達してきた緑豊かな美しい住宅都市です。　
　Lying southwest of Lake Huron, Birmingham, MI, is a beautiful city with its rich green environment. The city, with a population of over 20,000 has developed as a dormitory suburb due to the rapid increase in the population of its neighboring city Detroit.

 　湖南省の省都・長沙（Changsha）の南約200㎞にあり、人口約680万人（その内の市区人口65万人）の町。鉄道幹線や国家級道路等交通の要衝であり、内陸工業として産業も発達し農業も盛ん。観光資源として、日本仏教（天台宗）とのつながりが深い「南岳衡山」もあり、地下資源も豊富です。
　Located approx.200km south of Changsha, Hengyang city has a pop. of approx 6.8M. The city is an important area for Chinese transport with prosperous inland industry, agriculture and underground resources. A tourist site, Mt. Nan Yue Heng Shan, is very important to the Japanese Buddist Tendai sect.
