Requst on Payment of RIFA member's Fee For RIFA members who did not pay member's fee for 2007 yet, please take action by either remitting it from Shiga Bank or bringing it to RIFA Office directly. 10th RIFA Anniversary Project Committee Established 10th RIFA Anniversary Project Committee was established and it' activity have been starting. Project Committee consists of 9 RIFA officers and following 7 members who were invited. We would appreciate your cooperating and supporting project committee. Anniversary events will be held in this Autumn. We will inform of details later. | Invitation to 17th Shiga/Michigan Friendship Mission | |
| Objectives : |
Understand culture and society of U.S.A, and also deepen international understanding and friendship through home-stay and or life experiences in State of Michigan, sister city of Shiga Prefecture. |
| Duration : | From August 19 to 27 |
| To : | State of Michigan in U.S.A In principal, mission members will go to sister cities of Michigan tying up respectively with cities, towns, villages in Shiga. |
| Applicants : | Persons meeting following requirements. 18 years and older at April 1 in 2008 except high school students Residents in Shiga Prefecture Be in good health and take collective action without any difficulty Note that persons with 70 years and older are asked to submit diagnosis of doctor concluding that their health is fine for long trip. |
| Capacity : | Around 45 persons. Will be selected by lottery if applicants are over capacity. |
| Expense : | T.B.D. Note that expense shall be beard fully by yourself. For your reference, expense required for previous mission is \221,000. |

| < Shunka-Shutoh> I am always having a regard for foreign residents who are studying Japanese language at RIFA Japanese Teaching Class. If I am on opposite position, I can not talk with resident persons, can not communicate at job sites and shopping, and also can not understand notification from school and local circular notices by any possibility. I can expect that they have made great efforts to reach to such language level as to babble in Japanese. You may find some hints at RIFA Japanese Teaching Class to acquire foreign language.
