                            on Sunday October 30, 2005
With the completely different weather from yesterday’s torrential rain, a wonderful view with Mt. Mikami was spread before and below Shinyukan, at whose BBQ garden RIFA held a send-off party for the goodwill delegation to Hengyang, hunan, China.

On behalf of the delegation, Superintendent of Ritto Board of Education Yoko Iwasaki commented as the leader of the delegation. RIFA’s chairperson Teruhiko Hayashi delivered a send-off message. He was quoted as saying that he was looking forward to hearing nice reports from them, who should overcome difficulties with all those conflicts on the small world and try to make good atmosphere in which they can get along with each other.

Next, rest of the delegates were introduced. Representative of Ritto City council Hitoshi Kawasaki, chairperson of RIFA Exchange Project Committee Satoshi Fujisaki, member of RIFA Exchange Project Committee Noritsugu Yoshikawa, member of RIFA General affairs and public Relations Committee Naoichi Horiike, interpreter Kyoko Otsu, and Director of Ritto Citizen Activities Promotion Division Toshio Iwamoto expressed their firm decision, saying, “ we will try to do best to yield deeper friendship between Ritto and Hengyang.”

The party began with a toast proposed by Jujiro Terada, who has visited Henyang many times as a delegate of private-level diplomacy.

The delegation headed for Hengyang City on November 16, finished their mission and returned sound and safe on November 21. Let’s hope for their stories.
